KFR Marketing and Promotions Internships
103.3 KFR is looking for Marketing and Promotions interns and offers
a non-salaried internship program designed to give hands-on experience
at a commercial radio station with the goal of exposing the individual
to all aspects of radio. Areas covered include promotions, marketing,
public relations, special event management, programming, and sales-related
activities.
The
ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, energetic,
and dependable individual with a great attitude
and good communication skills, who is willing
to take the time and energy necessary to learn
the inner workings of a radio station. Proficiency
in Microsoft Word is essential, as well as the
confidence to work with and interact with KFR
staff, clients, advertisers, event promoters,
and listeners. Students must be receiving college
credit for the internship and are expected to
work 25-30 hours per week for a minimum of 12
weeks. Interns will need transportation to get
to and from events while interning for the radio
station.

Specific
duties and responsibilities include, but are
not limited to:

Representing
KFR in a public relations capacity at station
events, including street festivals, KFR concerts,
broadcasts, sales promotions, etc.

Organizing,
preparing, coordinating, and executing promotional
events for WKFR

Maintaining
the KFR Freeloader listener program both on-site
at events and in the office
-
Interacting
with listeners on a day-to-day basis whether
it be fulfilling contest prizes, answering
questions, etc.

Brainstorming
new ideas for the radio station, its clients,
and advertisers
-
Monitoring
the inventory of station promotional items
such as banners, t-shirts, stickers, hats,
hoodies, etc.
